16 ROMANTIC ENGAGEMENT IDEAS TO GET HER SCREAMING YES

Are you planning yet for that proposal? Please don’t tell me no! oh my! You mean that stunning, beautiful queen has not yet gotten a ring on her finger? Are you freaking kidding me? Ok. Maybe you’ve bought the ring and just don’t know how to go about it. Chill and relax. I’ve got just the right thing for you.

While I know planning an engagement party might be hard, the first thing you should be aware of is that you need to know if your babe is a private person and wants a private engagement, or she’s the type that wants attention. This will be your major guide as you plan the party.

Whether public or private, here are some ideas that are guaranteed to make her go gaga, screaming yes and jumping on you. Be creative with it though.

PLAN A PICNIC WITH JUST HER

This is for you who don’t know whether to go public or private. Look for a venue, get your mat, blueberry muffins, pack a meal in your picnic basket, don’t forget the wine and the flowers. Tell her to get ready for a date. You should pop the question before eating so you guys get to enjoy your first date as fiancée and fiancé, or during the date. It’ll just be the two of you and maybe the few/ plenty, people at the park, clapping and snapping pictures while she screams yes.

AT THE RESTAURANT

Before you do this, ensure to alert the restaurant managers. Most restaurants have a plan for things like this. They might just take over the planning from you. Hire the serenades and the cake artist if you want one or get talked into hiring one. Get there early enough and make sure all is set while you wait for that beauty to walk in. you can have the question displayed, ask after the meal or before. Just put your spin on it. You could invite friends and families to dine with you guys.

CANDLELIGHT DINNER

Shy or not, if you plan this well, your girl is going to forget she’s a public person. Get your scented candles and flower petals to welcome her or send one as an invitation to keep her guessing. Prepare all her favorite dishes or order them beforehand. Make sure to keep it simple. Get rid of distractions and set the mood with soft melodious music songs so that when she walks into the house, she’s enveloped in love. Dim the light for a  feel and light up your candles. (I’m already awning and blushing) pop the question during dessert or after dinner please, this is important!. Wait till the meal is over. Do not forget the wine and flowers too. It is damn important.

BIRTHDAY SURPRISE.

If you can wait till it's her birthday, then either choose any of the above or below as your proposal idea. Get that question off your chest immediately you get called to talk about her. i.e. you get called up the stage to say something about your love. Get on your knees dude! Talk about the amazing memories you guys have shared, how she's made you a better person, then look into her eyes, hold her hands and pop the question.

SURPRISE PARTY

Hold a surprise party on her behalf. Extend invitations to her friends and family and tell them it’s a secret or just have them converge for no reason if you are feeling wicked. This is so no one can spill the beans. Get all necessaries, find a venue, or use your house for the party. Get the booze or whatever you need, decorate the house (have them help) with flowers and holders and when she walks in that door, oh my… fire on soldier.

HOLIDAY TRIP

Y’all don’t have to travel out of the country if you don’t want to. Could be a different city or state you know she’s always wanted to visit or one you are sure of. Just the two of you. You can go out for dinner and have the hotel staffs decorate the room with scented candles and flower so when you get back, you can then propose. You can also propose at the park in the city, a museum, a tourist attractive place, Eiffel tower, in the midst of an island, at the beach while you are swimming. Spin her personality on it. Remember it's all about her and not you.

TREASURE HUNT

Send that lady on a treasure hunt. You can leave clues starting from your shared bedroom or hers. The clues should take her to a designated venue or place, and end with a marriage proposal. The hint can extend /stop anywhere you want it to. All over the city to a venue, a place, another house, the park etcetera.  Don't overdo it so she doesn't get tired.

CONCERT

If you both like music, then take her to her favorite artist/ band music concert. While the song is going on, sneak behind and ask her to marry you. If she’s high on drama/ grand gestures, get in touch with the stage manager and have them bring you on stage. While the song is going on, tell her how much you love her and do your thing.

SCRABBLE PROPOSAL

If you both love puzzles or scrabble, then its time to get one. Play together, once you’ve formed the words, get on your knee, its time to propose.

FAMILY DINNER

Add caption

This could be on her father’s birthday, thanksgiving, or festive dinner in which one family is present. Whichever opportunity presents itself (your family or hers). Get on that knee after or during dinner. You can have a member of the family plan the event for you.

CALL-IN

This has to be a program she likes on TV or RADIO. Call in and ask her to marry you.

ART EXHIBITION

If you guys are into art, you can plan with the gallery manager of a place you know she frequents or will like to. Maybe have her painting displayed, so while you guys are walking, she’s fixated on her picture, in awe, while you go on your knee and ask. You should do a poem for her too.

TOO SHY?

You can send her a poem containing words of love and memories. The things you like about her. If you know nothing about poems, steal the words off the pages of a book. Make sure to be nearby to hear her scream yes. Gauge her reaction, then come out of hiding to put a ring on her finger.

OFFICE SHENANIGAN

Sneak into your girl’s office, classroom, or workroom before they arrive in the morning and write your proposal on the desk, board, etc. Stay hidden away from sight. You can sprinkle flowers, set up cakes, display subtle hints she'll notice as she walks into the office. Ask for the help of her colleague and make sure the manager is in on it. Don’t get embarrassed for loving up.

SLIP IT ON

While she’s asleep, slip the ring on her finger and make sure you have breakfast in bed ready for when she wakes up. Ask her how she feels when she’s up.

GO BIG

Rent out a football field, cinema, restaurant, golf course, buy her a car, bring in her favorite artist, have him or her perform her best songs, rent a plane, go sky diving, scuba diving, take her to an island and then put your spin on the proposal.

Make sure to send in stories on your proposals and how it went. We love to see you smile. Send a message to my mailbox and I'll be sure to reply. Adios (I will be saying 'bye' in different languages from now on)
